Separate luggage into two types

Carry-on baggage stays with you when boarding; checked baggage is handed over at check-in. Dimensions, weight, and quantity vary by airline and fare, so check your booking first. Keep passports, valuables, and items needed in transit in your carry-on.

Check departure and transit airport guidance for liquids

Restrictions on liquids, gels, creams, and duty-free items vary by route and security screening conditions. Check container and packing rules in official guidance from departure and transit airports. Confirm permitted container conditions before transferring contents.

Check batteries and electronics separately

Power banks, spare batteries, and devices with batteries may have different rules. Check airline limits on capacity, quantity, storage, and use. Do not bring damaged batteries, and keep capacity labels readable.

Check the return journey too

Items allowed on your outbound flight may be subject to different return-airport security or destination import rules. Check customs and quarantine guidance before buying food, plants, medication, or duty-free goods.
